Removing overhead console

I am relpacing the drivers seat belt in my 85 IROC. Just wondering how the overhead console comes out........

The following may help:

After the screws are removed, the console will slide out, depending on whether its a coupe or t-top version, by pushing toward the windshield or pulling toward the rear of the car. Take note of the wiring.

OK, so there are 2 screws under the dome light lens, where are the other 2?

Two screws and four mounting studs, the latter of which the console slides over.

OK, so take the rear 2 screws out and slide it back over the mounting studs?

Yes, Push it forward(Toward the windshield).
