What To Use For Removing Silicone Residue?
Alright guys. When I tear apart the interior to put in new carpet I want to refresh the console.
The console is in good shape structure-wise. I think theres like one crack I'd have to repair. But the surface is starting to fade and scratch and I want to give it a new look with Krylon fushion satin black.
Now I have seen what silicone residue from products like armor-all does when you try to spray over it. I remember reading there was a product you used to douche the part to be painted that ate all the silicone residue. I have used acetone before and that definitely eats the silicone away, but after painted it didn't look as smooth as the other parts it has a dull grainy finish from partially eating the plastic.
Does anyone know the name of this product?

I ive used lacquer thinner to clean most of my things, that seems to work well. Wax and greese remover might work too.
