Dash Pad replacement
Dash Pad replacement
I am looking for someone who has installed a molded dash on top of their existing dash. I am thinking of buying a Coverlay or similar dash overlay product. I contacted "Coverlay" and asked if they could send me close up picturs of the dash, but they could/did not.
Any chance someone who installed the hard plastic molded cover already could take some close up pics of the dash vents where the 4 screws attach the pad to the actual dash? I would also like to know how easy it has to install.
All the premolded manufactures sell the fact to install the pad without taking off the existing cracked pad. I just would like to know if the new pad covers up the screws, and if not, how does it look ok.

Re: Dash Pad replacement
I just bought an awesome 87 5.7 and the first thing I've notice was the dash pad cover. It's warpped, and looks really bad. It's been glued in place. When I tried to remove it, I saw why it's on there in the first place... the original dash cover is cracked in 10 different places. But seeing what the sun did to the "plastic cover" covering it, I will be looking for a factory original! Do yourself a favor a go for a factory original..!
