Complete Dash Replacement

I've searched through the forum already and haven't really found what I'm looking for. I own an 88' camaro sc and the dash of course has a few crack. I want to replace the whole interior eventually, change the carpet and all. I see Dash Pads all over the place but I want a total replacement. I'd REALLY like an aftermarket brand new one. I just come up empty handed on the internet.

Thanks

In 10 years on this site I've never heard of any company making a reproduction dash or dash pad. That's why they get so much for them on Ebay.

You're gonna have to pay an arm and a leg to have an upholstery shop fix your old one, or build a custom one. The only other options I can think of is Stylin Concepts used to carry a universal custom fiberglass dash that was made to fit S-10's or Rangers. It might be close enough to use for a camaro..... OR, you could try one of those generic rectangular race car style dashes that are carried by a ton of different manufacturers with varying styles, but for the most part consist of a flat pice of sheet metal you can mount gauges to.

If you're interested in building a custom dash, jump into the fabrication forum and start a thread and I can give you some pointers.

IIRC, VFN mostly builds race-only parts. If you go with that dash, you're obviously not gonna get the same stock feel, and you're gonna really need to have some fabrication skills in order to mount all your OEM equipment in there.

Every hole is going to have to be cut to mount your switches, gauges, vents, ects, and then you're going to have to figure out a way to mount them.

You could make a steel backing plate and mount them all to it, sortof a press fit. If you have any glassing skills, you could fiberglass the steel plate to the back of the dash and make it even more permanent and sturdier.

I was afraid of that answer. I'm already going to fab my doors but that seems a little more entry level compared to a dash. Looks like I'll be checking out the fab section.

I wasn't making a negative comment toward you, I was just trying to expand on the option you offered.

I knew about the VFN dashes, but I admittedly forgot about them because, as I said, they're not really a reproduction dash. They're a racing device to make your car look semi-stock, yet save weight. Most guys who run them don't have excessive switches or even a/c because a/c robs HP, and things like headlights and rear defoggers can be optional depending on what kind of racing you're into.

They fall under the race dash category I mentioned that usually only includes a basic dash plate you can mount gauges to.
