Replacing A Manual Window Regulator on drivers side camaro.
My drivers side window works fine until you get the window up till its about 1/2 inch from being closed completely. At that point it starts to just grind b/c the top 4 or 5 teeth on the main regulator gear is worn off there.
How hard is it to replace the regulator unit. I have the door panel off and all the trim off But i don't really see any way to be able to actually get the old regulator out and a new one in not to mention detaching and then reattaching from the glass. There must be a way to take a large portion of the inner door metal off to get inside. I'm just not sure how.

It's actually not that hard to do a manual regulator. I've swapped power to manual and the other way too. If you search around a little bit, you should be able to find some info about getting the regulators out. I think there may even be a tech article about it.
Edit: Found some info. If you scroll down, there are some pics on how to get it out.

Has some info how to get a power regulator out....same process. Also how to adjust the glass.

It's not a fun job, but if you take your time and don't get frustrated with it, it shouldn't be that bad.
