Hi! I am new to this site and a new owner of a 1984 Camaro. Maybe some of you old time Camaro owners can answer a question for me and maybe get me heading in the right direction. Does the 1984 Camaro have a 3 point seat belt system factory installed in it? My car has lap belts installed but no shoulder straps and as far as I can tell, no provisions for installing any. I ask this question because my wife wants to put a couple of "child seats" in the back and they require a 3 point system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

1989 was when the back seat got three point belts

 

my 86 has 3 points in the front but i put them in the back you would have to go to a junkyard and remove the sheetmetal that holds the rear 3 points in place then remove your old setup and weld in the new setup very easy to do as long as you have a welder good luck

Yes, 3 point up front, laps in the back. Does your front only have laps?

 

Yes! and there appears no place for the shoulder strap to go. Any ideas?

 

You can re-install three points for the front but is the isue your wife wanting it for the "child seats" in the back?
