I have a full owners manuel for my 1987 firebird but I can't figure out how to remove and repair the retractable cargo shade. The shade is in excellent shape except for the retract bar. I saw a post that someone knew how to safely remove the bar without damaging it so it can be repaired.

open hatch , grab end sleeve , push toward center , lift out of mount . removal is easy , repair is another thing . if your profile is correct its just like an old wind up window shade . it may just need to have wind-up re-set . ( damn , your almost as old as me ) welcome to the forum , good luck .
