93 donor trans am, 89 iroc

I have a complete 93 trans am that has been wrecked but the dash and everything is good to use. I'm also putting the LT1 in the 89 IROC and I was wondering...

Would it be easier to just go ahead and change the inside and outside harnesses completely over so everything is plug and play or do you think wiring it is still the way to go? The way it's looking I'll have complete access to all the parts so wouldn't it make more sense to just go ahead and rip it all out and do it that way so I can just plug the motor, all new gauges, and everything right up?

Kind of like a full front end transplant?

Would this affect the turn signals or headlights that are already on the car or anything like that or would splicing those actually be easier for me than rewiring everything?

Yes change the harness!

Since the '93 came with a 700R4 as did your 89, most should be the same.

Your headlights, you'll have to splice in the extra bulb on each side and dead end the headlight motor wiring. Wiper motor etc. Anything specific to the '89 you will have to splice.

I am just curious if the A/C from the '93 will interfere with anything, being on the bottom. The power steering pump on the '93 is for rack and pinion - not steering box, other than lines I do not know if that will be a problem either.

Since the LT1s are still the same block as a 3rd gen, I'd retain all the 89 & their mounts. AC/Alt/PS if possible.

Not sure if the Optispark would cause clearance issues, with the older stuff.
