window problems

Seems I opened a can of worms on my 87 ta with electric windows. I was going to try to adjust my drivers side window because it had alot of flop to it. Here is what I have found.

Problem #1 lower stop gone. FIXED with bike brake pad

Problem #2 upper stop broken(see pic). Anyone make a replacement or do I have to rumage thru the junk yard? Do I just drill out the rivet, replace and rerivet?

Problem #3 regulator and motor. This seems to be a couple problems in one.
First, the upper rivet hole is cracked(see pic), how can this be fixed?

Next, when the window reaches the stops it seems to want to push a little more. When it does this I can see the rivets move (rivet holes that hold on to the regulator elongated) and I can see the sheetmetal that the regulator connects to flexes. What is causing this to happen and how can I remedy this?

Thanks
KeithO

Re: window problems

That happens with these 3rd gens. You may want to install new window motor and regulator. Dont worry about 1 rivet. If you cant fix it, take it to an automotive window install shop.
