Need a steering wheel

I need a steering wheel for my 91 rs project. I want to go aftermarket and ditch the airbag but everything i look at says it does not work with a airbag steering column or however they worded it. Is there something i am missing? I know people do it everyday. I though it all depended upon the adaptor????

Re: Need a steering wheel

Not sure what you talking about with the airbag steering column, as the airbag is in the wheel. Go for a grant steering wheel all you need to put it in is the Grant Installation Kit.

Re: Need a steering wheel

I figured as much, but i am just going but what i am reading, and damn near all the ones i like have this same note... see below.

Brand new 13.75” Billet aluminum 3 spokes black leather grained vinyl, half wrap steering wheel,

with a 1.5" tall aluminum polished sleeve and a Chrome CHEVY Logo horn button .

The total high is 3.75".

This wheel has tiny scratch on the spokes, see Photo.
This wheel is for NON AIRBAG Steering wheel column only.

The steering wheel adapter kit is NOT included.

Please check out if you have an adapter to fit your car first before you bidding.
I do sell steering wheel adapter kits

Re: Need a steering wheel

check in recent posts by using the search function, there was a guy who posted the steps with pix for changing airbag car to non-airbag, it does not require a column change - it was posted within the last couple months

Re: Need a steering wheel

I've read on here about some having to cut back some of the plastic on the column collar = may be a tech article on it - check there and see (off the main page, on the left, click tech articles).

Just swap out the wheel and pull out the INF RES bulb from the dash...
