Custom dash question

I have a template made for my dash. I am going to order the gauges soon. what is the best material to use. Maybe a sheet metal or and type of board. Or would it be easier to use the plastic clear piece and fiber glass it a little to make it even. Any help would be great.

Re: Custom dash question

When say "dash" are you talking about the entire dashboard assembly, or are you just talking about the gauge cluster, and removing it and placing a blank panel in there to install your custom gauges into?

Re: Custom dash question

Well then I would say whatever material you can get a hold of and will be easiest for you to work with. ABS plastic would be the easiest and cheapest if I had to guess, next would be wood, then finally metal.

I like the idea of putting the clear factory gauges plastic panel in front of the aftermarket gauges installed into an ABS board.
