Hello on my camaro my plastic interior parts are like delaminating????? and i was wondering if anyone knew of how to repair them but i dont know where to find any tan spray paint if anyone knows how to repair them could u tell me thanks

 

i just went to my local auto paint store and picked up some interior paint in a rattle can. You can also try using a heat gun and that will sometimes bring the finish back. I don't like doing that for fear of melting the trim though.

 

Are you referring to the plastic trim pieces like ones around window and back seats? Is the paint faded or is it coming off in a thin film? Any pics?

Spray can paint will work fine. I used some on a window trim piece. Other way is to buy SEM vinyl paint and spray every interior piece with a gun. More costly but results will be the best.

 

Yes im talking about the ones by the rear seats i think if u look in my album the project you will see the pieces. But idk what they are doing its like u can just take ur finger nail and scratch the dry spots and it comes off like dust crap.

I've removed layers of dry-rot by washing with water and scrubbing with an SOS pad. The discoloration usually remains - but the texture is much improved & it will quit leaving that dust crap all over the place !

Unless the car is a daily driver - better start looking for replacement panels !

 

Ok I see the panels in the picture that you are referring to. Seems weird the plastic would dry rot but I guess it's possible if car was exposed to moisture. I agree with John on finding replacement panels. Interior panels are pretty abundant. Try looking at classifieds on this site or craigslist.

Didn't some earlier cars have fabric on panels? I thought that cars which did had fabric over every piece in the rear. Could it be that fabric was removed and glue left behind?
