Camaro seat belt buckle
Camaro seat belt buckle
The seat belt buckle receiver in my car is cracked on the passenger side and the belt wont clip in. i need a new one because the whole side of the receiver is cracked off as well and looks pretty bad. I have an 89 camaro rs and i know theres a recall but i'd rather just find a receiver somewhere and call it a day before i spend hours attempting to get GM to help. anyway basically i just need someone to tell me where i can find a reasonably priced buckle. the only ones i saw were $150. it just needs to be able to belt a person in. i don't really care if its even the correct color match. are there other models for the 4th gens that will work as well? any input would be appreciated!

You can buy the red buttons seperately. I've seen them on the net but I got some thru GM. Easier as I work at a GM dealership.

I've got a few sets of black recievers with intact plastic and buckles that work well. Buttons are a little faded but not real washed out looking. Asking $30 a set plus shipping. And have a few extra drivers side only in black as well. $20 plus shipping. Pics if you send me an email address

I need belts for an 89 Convertible IROC. Particularly the driver front and both rear. Color preferred is Carmine Red, but black will do if I can get a complete set.

Re: Camaro seat belt buckle
my82roc (or anyone else that might know where to get a front set) >> I'm looking for gray selt belt receivers (Front, driver and passenger) for my '92 Z28 convertible. They're a bit worse for wear, red buttons are more pink!
I'm replacing the carpet, so it seems a good time to toss out my 'looks old' receivers and put some nicer ones there. Might even spring for a rear set as well if someone has them all. Main interest is the front ones for this car >>

Thanks in advance folks!

Re: Camaro seat belt buckle
I actually need a red front set of receivers, but I'd buy a black set for that price - please let me know. Broken seat belts are a real pain as we use them every time - state law.

Re: Camaro seat belt buckle
Hello All!!
If you really need a seat belt buckle receiver, I do believe that 1990's/early 2000's Cavaliers will work/fit also!!
If your not worried about the exact match, it's a good alternative/temp fix!!

P.S. I'm just not sure of the exact year of Cavalier, but I did try this in my local junk yard, and the seat belt latch plate does fit, and stays secure!!

Re: Camaro seat belt buckle
Rather than start a new thread on the same topic, I thought I'd resurrect this old topic.
I have a 1990 Camaro (gray) and the seat belt receiver, especially the driver's side one, could use replacing. The plastic sleeve around the belt is torn and frayed. The buckles work fine, but the red on the button has faded, like most do.
Does anyone have at least the driver's side one or a pair of both to sell? I saw that most of these shipped for about $30 each, so I'm looking to pay that. Thanks for any help in advance,
~Jim

If no one responds here or in the parts wanted section and no luck on fleabay you could try your local pic a part yard
Just about any late 70s early 80s GM female reciever end would work with your existing factory male belt ends.
I also had no luck for my 84s recievers and got a set from a 76 olds cutlass along with mint plastic guides. Bolted right in and worked with the factory male ends/belts.
