is there any way i can get a wiring diagram for the electric hatch? i bought the 86 z28 last week and i is all disconnected...

"Should" being the key word there. haha. I'm on my 3rd, ThirdGen and none of them had a working hatch slider. I've just gotten so use to opening it up with the good ol' key.... I'll fix it one of these days. There's multiple threads here with good instructions on how to do so if yours doesn't work either.

thanks! one more thing, what color is the constant power radio wire? i am losing all my presets every time i kill the car...=(

Well, apparently I suck! haha. Ah well. I'm not worried. Sweet deal for you though. Honestly, I couldn't even tell you how that switch works, or have ever seen it working on a thirdgen. One day... just like I say for everything else. lol.

These things can be wired directly (assuming your solonoid hasn't gone bad) but I don't like them on the center console that way, there's too big a chance you will hit it while driving. I installed mine to the area right next to the hood release. It's just a 12V power source to the switch, and then the switch continues that right back to the hatch. really simple

yes, i know that. i was bringing it up in case he wires his up with direst power like mine.... no safety feature then
