hey guys i have an 83 ta and my gas gauge doesnt work its stuck up past full... ive found 2 wires that are unplugged that come off the gas tank on the drivers side they exit just above the drivers side exhaust pipe there is a pink wire and a black one they are on the same connector this wire is only 7-8 inches . i just cant seem to find the other side of the connector that plugs into this where would it be routed though on the car? ive looked in the jack compartment where the wire harness is for the tail lights, there is a black wire there but its not hooked up and i tested it with a test light and there was no power any info would be appreciated

 

it reads OHMS 0-90 one wire is ground and the other goes to the gauge. im suprised Stephen hasnt told you anything yet LOL

Those wires follow the taillight harness, and enter the car on the rear drivers side.

 

Ok where the tail light harness is there is only 1 black wire and the pink wire that goes from the sending unit to the gauge has no power neither does the black wire that i found unhooked there. do u know what color the wire is that plugs into the pink one is?

 

your looking for a pink wire in the wiring harness

 

The only pink wire that i found was in the taillight harness itself no other pink wire or is that the one that you mean?
