Whats easiest way to repair headliner?

So im thinking about replacing my headliner. Whats the cheapest and easiest way to replace it. how easy is it to remove? im thinking about removing it (i have ttops) then removing the old fabric and spraying some new adhesive and with the new fabric im gonna buy at jo anns fabric i will just put the new one in then wa la. do you think this be work out alright?

mine was sagging real bad. the stock one is made of cardboard and deteriorates easily over 20 years. i know there is a post that details removing the foam backing without damaging the cardboard liner.

i took a look at the cost of the materials and my time. i decided to go with a abs liner.

But, as stated, the cardboard is flimsy - I need to do it again, this time I'll try to paint some fiberglass resin on the backside with a brush to stiffen/strengthen it more - I've read this is a pretty successful tactic.

If you're going to recover, make SURE you get all the old foam off. Trying to glue new liner to old foam is like trying to glue your hand to sand.

i recommend the 3M spray adhesive. its expensive but works great.
