Placing new interior...ADVICE NEEDED!!
Placing new interior...ADVICE NEEDED!!
Hey fellas,
Just picked up my Iroc from the paint and body shop. Now its time to place the all-black interior. I scored bigtime at the junkyard, and now I have a complete interior that needs to be placed.
I believe the carpet needs to be placed first, and then all else. Please please any tips or advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!!!

yup, carpet is the best starting place, then i do the seatbelts and center console as these are hard to get at with the seats in, then all the plastics. there is an order to the plastics, im not too sure what the order is off the top of my head but you can see some are clearly notched to go above or below others. i think the sail panels are first. finally the seats last, i know you would think they would be first but there are screws that hold the rear plastics in that are hidden by the rear seats and the rear seats are hard to get in with the front seats in place. after all that, you should be done! if youre also doing the headliner this goes right before the plastics as most of them help hold it in. good luck! interior work is pretty easy on a third gen... now on a similar year vette, its a giant pita. ask me ow i know...

Seats go in LAST!!!! ....they go in easy, the come out easy, and if you're not sittin' in them, they just get in the way.
Carpet should be FIRST! ....it's molded to fit....but....it won't. Trust me. Best bet is to lay it out in the hot sun for an hour or two. HUGE difference. And have a sharp utility knife and scissors. You'll need 'em, but make sure you don't cut anything 'til it ALL fits. It's really not hard, just be patient.
