Swapping odometers; resetting needles, 90-92 Camaro gauges; Need help!
I decided to start another thread because I've run into some problems on my 140mph cluster swap. I got my B4C/1LE cluster and promptly proceeded to destroy it. My car has 159k on it and this cluster was at 211k. All I really wanted to do was either swap odometers or correct the B4C one.
I followed steps on this site to remove the needle (which worked fine) and then I attempted to remove the black overlay. It was so brittle it, the black just crumbled off of it.
After removing the overlay, I removed the odometer and was able to adjust it to my car's actual mileage.
I have a few main concerns/questions at this point:
#1: Does GM make the stock/black 145mpg overlay? Is it available?
#2: Is there a PREFERRED overlay kit for the 90-92 gauges? Got links? If I can't get OEM black, I'll go with whatever is the next best thing.
#3: If I have to go with an aftermarket overlay kit, Can I just remove all of my black/factory overlays and put the aftermarket ones on? The ones I've seen seem to all be the style that cover the stock black ones. I just don't want things appearing too light or "over-bright" at night because there won't be the OEM ones behind it. I think if I did go this route I'd really like Silver gauges (metallic) that are reverse indiglo at night. Are these made?
#4: How do I reinstall the needle so the gauges are correct? Its just a pressure fit obviously, but is there a step by step to get it calibrated properly or do I have to take it to a speedo shop?
Thanks in advance for the help! I appreciate it!

Anyone?
I wound up ordering a set of silver overlays from Hawks today; I'll make it work to fix the overlay issue; Still wondering about the speedo needle tho.
