Plastic Heater Box?

Someone tell me if the plastic heater box under the dash is the same weather I have a/c or no a/c. I wanna sell all the a/c delete parts and wanna make sure I have everything if it's needed. The parts are off a 85 z if that helps any.

Re: Plastic Heater Box?

I've never heard of anyone swapping the box around the heater core when deleting A/C - I didn't have to on my 1992, and I used an A/C delete box from an '85 - don'y think anyone needs it - leave it - all they need is the box under the hood.

Re: Plastic Heater Box?

If your '85Z came from the factory without A/C, then it does have a different box, and a different dash (no vents on the outside edges by the doors).

Most people swapping from A/C just replace the box on the engine side of the firewall. That way they retain their proper dash ventilation, and vacuum-driven HVAC control. Your non-A/C will have cable-driven controls.
