shift knob wont fit help??

Transmission: 5-Speed
shift **** wont fit help??
i bought a new white 5speed shift **** off of hawksthirdgenparts.com and its for my 5speed 84 camaro and its to big to fit the shaft. any help on how i could get it to would be much appreciated!!

if the shift **** is too big i believe hurst makes adapter that thread into the bigger **** that has different threads on the inside. granted this one if for a mustang but you get the idea. its the one on the left. looks like a bolt but the inside is like a nut.

Put a helicoil in it as a sleeve....
