Welcome to TGO!!!
This is just me .... but if I were to go through the trouble of an engine swap, I'd go V8 - at least 350.
I'm no tranny expert, and have no clue about the 200R4 on a V6 platform, but I'm pretty sure I've read a few posts stating that the 200R4 can actually be a stronger tranny than the 700R4, so you might want to look into that further before you make a final decision - there's tons of threads in the tranny section, a few hours doing some searching and researching might tell you to keep the 200R4 - I just don't know for sure.
Orange? Nice color - My brother has a 1989 Dodge Conquest that is orange candy - very sweet! Lots can be done with orange as far as tying the interior with the exterior. I have a 1992 Teal - the greens are harder to find (as far as stuff to tie the interior with exterior) - but there's always a ton of orange fabrics, paints, etc. (especially this time of year with Halloween!).
My photbucket is http://s287.photobucket.com/albums/ll121/jw_baum/92RS/
I've done a few little things here and there - green LED's to glow the floorboards, a teal green ribbon glued into the armrest (took me months of buying different greens to find one that matched my paint), teal green fabric glued on speaker covers, green EL wire Bowtie that lights with stereo, and white guages with green lighting. I'm still looking for more, but cash is too tight right now. I want a nice set of floormats with teal green embroidered edging and the Camaro logo, and some day I'll get someone to embroider the 25th anniversary logo in my headrests in a teal green thread.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Im sure you have your reasons for staying v6, but i'll give you my opinion anyway lol...
You're gonna be disappointed, even the 305's are slow, the 350's stock keep up with modern SUV's..., Im assuming the only reason you said "bigger v6" is because you want more power, It wont give what you want.

Re: Im doing interior mods. And post pics of yours
I don't have all 4 hooked up yet, just 2. One is a manual on switch for my electric fan, and one is a switch for the LED's I installed in the aero ground effects. I'm disapointed in the LED's - not bright enough to really be noticed. I'm going to look into some small driving lights or something if I can find something brighter that fits.
Another mod that's not interior but worked out really well - I put strip LED lights under the hood - they shine away from you, and evenly light the entire engine bay - no shadows like other lights - makes it great to see if something's wrong under the hood at night. The only time things go wrong on my car is when it's raining or dark

1984 Chevrolet Camaro dashboard design changed to a smaller sharper design in response to complaints about design quality and appearance in the last 2 years. 1984 Chevy Camaro Z28 steering wheel changed slightly with the lines being taken out of the bottom spoke and being made smaller on the side spokes.
1984 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta gets electronic instrumentation. Included bar-graph tach, digital speedometer, and stalk-mounted cassette/radio, fingertip steering wheel side pod mounted controls, cruise control in steering wheel, and an overhead console.
Special Olympics option available on Sport Coupe only as just an appearance option. All these Sport Coupes were white. The package itself was comprised of striping and decals. It included a double blue/orange striping around the base of the car, pinstriping in the same colors along the upper body, and an "Olympic" style decal on the sail panels.
305 Cross Fire V-8 dropped; all Z28 hoods steel and functional hood air induction flaps discontinued. Clutches switched to hydraulic operation on manual transmission cars.
L69 H.O. Z28 motor now available with automatic transmission. All automatics now 4 speed 700R4 units.
Road & Track selects the '84 Camaro as 1 of 12 best cars in the world along with the Firebird. It won Best Sports GT category in the $11,000 to $14,000 range. Car and Driver selects the 1984 Chevy Camaro Z28 as the best handling car built in the United States.

Well, I will say this: If you are going to stay with a v-6, Get one of the 2010 v-6's and trannys out of a wrecked one. Seen lots of these in junkyards and they are really cheap (Around 900.oo with the trans and harness + ecm) Thats 300 hp motor that gets 27mpg!

Interior mods as far as what? Like styling? I've got my gauges and steering wheel, that's about as custom as mine gets, ill get a pic up later for ya
As far as the v6 goes I'm thinkin a turbo'd buick might be a nice choice

Heres' mine. Just wheel and switches for now (switches are under the dash, right side). Project car that I just dropped a healthy heart into. Many many more things to come.

I wanted to do that! (3.8 SFI turbo) The 89 TTA is a good example, but horribly expensive! The passenger side manifold is extinct and replacements are expensive! I think if I was gonna go V-6 I might go with a Buick 3.8 supercharged motor. Still cant beat a big V-8 though...
like a lg3 or ln3 i forgot but a 3800 supercharged?

I have the same Grant Steering as the pic above but my latest interior project is a custom gauge cluster. I'm still perfecting it but the goal is to make it look like it came from the factory. I didn't like the A-Pillar gauge pod anymore. I got this idea from the old camaro gauges located on the console.

Uhm my exhaust kicks out flames occasionally when I downshift but that's not intentional and my camaro is far from a "rycer"

Do you have propane going through your exhaust? Because that was my point. If your car does that when you down shift there's something not right.. It sounds to me like back firing

Here's a quick mod I did to my cluster gauge; took some 100 sand paper to remove the initial paint and finished up with 240 for a quick polish. I've seen other people paint it, but I like the brushed metal look, and it helps illuminate the dash better. There's a thread on it somewhere in the forums, but all you do is take off the cluster gauge sand prime paint.

Here's a modification you can do to your doors and rear sail panels. How about a set of Pioneer (what ever brand,) speakers I think look good and sound even better. ( a new CD player if it needs it).I had the extra fire extinguisher just laying around so I mounted it in the car.

Yes it saves Pre-sets, like stated above your constant wire must be hooked up incorrectly or dead. You'll need to trace it back and see if it has a break in the wire, or run a new wire. A good place would be the PWR slot in your fuse block.
Re: Im doing interior mods. And post pics of yours
I have tons of interior mods............
No back seats, no dash, no console, no interior panels, no arm rests, no radio, no heat, no air conditioning.
However... I do have bucket seats.

One of these days I really need to just go for it with the IROC, have it blasted down to the metal just to make sure I have no rust to work with, painted, and have a 383 built. Makes me sad to just see it sit, like it has been since late 2009.
