Camaro & Trans Am 1983 Shifter Knob Automatik
Camaro & Trans Am 1983 Shifter **** Automatik
I have a 1983 Daytona Pace Car Trans Am. The automatic shifter has this little metal pin on the left side. I was wondering if there was a **** on the Camaro that also had the opening on the left side instead of the front like most Camaros and Trans Ams had !!
Does anyone know ? Probably it must be an 1983 Camaro as well

I also have an '83 pace car, and do not understand exactly what you have, and many people may share the same thought as me. Are you talking about the side button shifters? If it's possible to take a picture of what you have and what you're looking for, maybe someone might be able to help you.

Ok here you see my shifter **** (T-Handle) and the metal piece to take it off is on the right side (You have to take it out to take the Shifter off). I would like to know if the Camaro ever had a Shifter **** that also has that little metal piece on the right side and how that shifterknob (Not Manual) looks like !!
For Example, ,you cant put an GTA Shifter **** on it cause it has the Metal Piece in the front. The same goes for the later Camaro Shifter **** cause this one also has the metal piece in the front of the shifter ****)

So my Question is, how does the shifter **** in an 1983 Camaro (Automatic) looks like ? I have no idea how else i could ask this !!

I know 82-84 Z28s had a ball shaped shifter, I believe that was held on by the top underneath the button. Not sure what base model had, but the 84-86 Berlinettas had a shifter that had the staple that held it on and covered the entire shifter stalk. That was a top button similarly shaped to the top one you posted.
The ball shifter can be seen here :

I have one but I'm guessing they are prone to cracking. Also have a few berlinetta versions.
