how to retract/remove seat belt from headliner
About a week ago, while putting on the driver's side seat belt, about 5 seconds after I engaged it, I heard a small pop and the seat belt came loose from the headliner retactor.
My headliner is mint and I have been trying to figure out to take it out without removing the headliner since my headliner is mint and original.
I found this thread but there any other way to fix the retractor without removing/damaging the headliner?

Thanks!

There is a split in the headliner - you pull the belt out through the slit as you are dropping the headliner. The split is covered by a plastic cover that snaps into the seatbelt retractor - so you unsnap the plastic cover, remove the headliner pulling belt out through headliner slit, then remove the retractor. Plan on ordering A-Pillar clips from dealer, get a bag for $20 - the A-pillar clips always break.

Drop the headliner. If you don't, you risk damaging it while messing with the seat belt. Be careful with the headliner handling and you'll be fine. There is a slit in the headliner right at the seat belt retractor. You can also get the clips mentioned for the A pillar at most auto parts store in the Help! section for considerably less than dealer pricing. Shortcuts usually cost more in the end!!
