interior plastic paint
some of my interior plastic peices were broken nut i had extra ones in red and grey. so i painted them black with the dupli-color vinyl & fabric paint. i used this on my new seats out of a 2002 ss camaro that were pewter color and it worked great .so i thought sence the can said it works on dashboards and doorpanels i could paint my plastics also. it looks great but i was wondering if anybody else has painted their plastics ? should i put a clear coat over them to protect them? i think it might give it that just armorall look . any suggestions would be much apprecited.
thanks

Re: interior plastic paint
Most people use SEM dye, not paint for plastics...
Though I've not done a test of the paint you've mentioned...
I've heard of some people "painting" the plastics and it coming off in sheets.... ??
try a bad piece and play around with it...
Either way, be sure to get it clean, TSP(tri sodium phosphate) is good and heavy duty...

if you're looking just to do black, krylon fusion works really well and readily available. meant just for plastic and i've never had it run or chip (can't say the same for some of my other paint/touch up attempts....)

no clear, not a fan of super shiny plastics myself, but they do offer a clear coat for those who do. its got a semi-gloss finish to it when it dries
