Cut my plastic, or cut my bracket?

I have an 83 Z28 that I just put plastics in from a 87 firebird. The rear hatch plastic is for a hatch pull down unit. I dont have one, but I do have the brakets on the body for a cargo cover. I still have the cargo panel and now have realized that this is hitting the brakects and will not sit flush and work.

Should I cut the plastic or the body?

Or should I find a panel for a non power pull down car?

Or try and paint my original tan cover black to match my panels?

Re: Cut my plastic, or cut my bracket?

Well, I still dont know exactly what to do with it. I have painted panels with some success in the past, but it always comes off when rubbed hard with something and is not very durable for the trunk area.

I also dont know if I want to cut anything. So I guess I will crack a beer and stare at it till something sounds like a good idea.

Cargo cover panels are specific. Either get rid of the flip down door or dye your existing panel to match the rest of the interior
