I'd think it would be easiest to get a pair of powered doors and swap. You could get power mirrors & windows, and install new hinge kits before/during the swap, and have great doors afterwards - of course that means paint though.

You could get power window regulators and motors and swap them in from a JY car - I'd install new motors regardless.

Re: Adding Power Windows??

i know of 1 company that makes aftermarket kits . no need to remove old linkage/door because you use it . " SPAL " , my car had their kit installed when i bought it . it's simple compared to swapping parts from a donor car . i have owned 3 third gens and 2 3rd gen parts cars . so this is not my first rodeo . much easier to use their kit . check them out , just punch in SPAL on your search . good luck .

You know, I'd really recommend staying with your manual windows... The power windows in these cars perform so poorly that manual windows are about 10000x faster. If I could remove mine and go to crank conveniently, I would.

Re: Adding Power Windows??

There are many cars being parted out on these boards, or at the salvage yards. You could find the parts you need that way.

Its going to make your car heavier/slower though. (Can you tell I am biased?)

I swapped from my old car. The wiring harness gets power from junction block behind left kick panel maybe above it a little IIRC. Ground is under console. Not that hard to do.

Dante, I've got my old regulators and console top if you want them. Regulators worked good. Console top may be rough around ash tray.

Re: Adding Power Windows??

thirdgen ranch has a kit for adding power windows and power locks for under $100. Its used, but its all stock parts, wiring, switches, etc. Almost went that route when I was working on the dash swap, maybe when the car's running again

This link has everything you need to know (and more) including pictures. I printed it and got the used stuff from 3rd gen ranch.

Swap "powerlocks" for "powerwindows" for even more info.!

"This account has been suspended" is what shows up when I try the link. I'm looking at picking up a new camaro project and it's got no power options so I was looking for info and this link keeps coming up in all the threads I've searched, BUT it fails. Does anyone have a copy of the info or know who hosts the page and if they could fix whatever is wrong. REALLY would love this info as it would make life a LOT easier...thanks

Turns out the guy who hosted the site died. It's primarily a Crown Vic site but has a third gen section with some useful stuff like the power window and door lock swap. Someone mirrored the site so try this:
