Re: What tool do you use on seats

Do you have some special button or is it the same small lever on the seat back thats in Camaros? If so then that lever is built into the hinge assembly. I was just looking into that a while back because my levers are broke so I had a couple spare hinge assemblies. But the lever also does not come into use unless the seat if at a foward angle like when parked on a hill.

As for the head rest, there is a tool but I have used a Slim Jim (not the snack food).
Slide it down in the front and it will go between the head rest bar and the tab that lock it in place, then pull up on the head rest.

I reupholstered my seats. I used a feeler gauge. lift the headrest up a little, slide the feeler guage down the middle front and continue to pull up the headrest......voila!!

Hey Mad,I got a small black lever type button that you have to move up to push the back of the seat forward,it has a very small hole in it,looks like some kind of tool you use to remove the thing,I want to remove the upholstery but that is in the way.
Got the headrest out, used a flimsy metal ruler with a rounded edge, worked pretty good .

I can't imagine what the birds look like. My Camaro the lever is part of the latch which unbolts from the side of the seat back and seat bottom. The plastic panel comes off because its notched for the lever to come out of.
