Re: Power Window Help

If you could post pictures i may be able to help.

did you take the spring off the actuator why?

Or possibly did you put it together the easy way?

When you are putting the motor on the actuator you have to preload the spring.
with the spring preloaded you install the motor.
Be careful I came close to missing a tooth when I slipped.
I recommend some balling wire to hold the tension in place while you install the motor.

Re: Power Window Help

Well the spring popped off when the motor was being changed i see the easier way of doing it now but little late for that. So basically i have the entire door put back together and did the spring wrong so is there a secret to putting it on without taking the motor back out?

Re: Power Window Help

Curse a lot cause your gonna have to take it out.
I'm cursing cause i just typed all this and my pc f***ed up.

Ok take it all back out
If your not strong then get some help
take the motor off
if you have a vice put the side the motor attaches to in the vice
if no vice bolt it down to a bench or block of wood
now turn the other half once to put tension on it
it should be pretty stiff (pun intended im a funny guy i think)
Now you should have something ready to hold it in place (i used balling wire)
take it out the vice or unbolt it
put motor back on
now go plug the motor in and run it up and down a few time to make sure it is working nicely
then have fun installing the damn thing

Re: Power Window Help

If you need to change motors again.
you can leave the regulator in the door and just drill thru to get to the motor rivets.
let that motor drop out then you will have to use bolts to put the new one back in.
It will be way easier then taking that sh*t out again.

What are you using to put it all back together bolts or rivets?
Did you ever find out how to tell what gears you got?

I got to change my gas tank tomorrow good thing i had a parts car i tell you wow its difficult to get one out. To bad you didn't live close i would do your window for you if you dropped my rear end and put my new tank in.

Re: Power Window Help

Yea I used bolts don't wanna drill out rivets again any way.
If you use those washers with the teeth on them it is easier to get them real tight since you don't have to hold both sides.
