i the leather seats not nice. the fabric seats are not sporty enough. recaros are a great solution. only problem is finding rails. i made my own. got some used JDM recaros. they are blue so matched my car perfect! sold car now without seats so they are for sale.







my 94 mr2,03 jetta wagon, 81 turbo ta pace car, 91 trans am, 87 trans am and now 89 fromula all have recaro seats. great seats and good value from JDM.

 

i don't think they fit the rest of the interior of the car. i've never really been a fan of those seats unless they're in a full out race car. i'm happy with my factory seats IMO

 

GDM. They're German.

Good quality, kinda pricey though. I went with cheap 4th gen seats. I think price & style are why you don't see more of them.

 

the problem is find the rails... most people don't know where to get the ones or do not want to pay alot of cash for the rails.
Seats are very nice, better than 4th gen seats and definitely better than 3rd gen seats.

 

corbeau seats in my car are really nice and they make bolt in seat brackets as well

 

up here they are around 400-600 for a set of two real recaros. these would be used from cars made in japan. basically the reals seats that all the aftermarket junk seats are copied from lol.

i tried 4th gen leather seats that cost around the same. slippery cheap leather. plastic fake leather on the sides. flat on bottom for "one size fits all". like new in black fabric would be nice to find.

my 1981 turbo trans am came factory with real recaro seats and to this day they feel awsome. i think you could get them untill 1986.

 

so true about the rails. i have not found much information and the ones i made are not the best. i have to make some new ones for the formula see how it goes.

 

The original design of Recaro seat is very comfortable. I also like the Flow fit style aswell.

 

I don't put Recaros in my car because IMO they don't match anything at all in the rest of the interior. It also looks a bit off to have seats designed for 5-points, without the 5-points.

Truthfully I just don't think they look good at all. They completely clash with the rest of the interior.

Stock seats are the best IMO.

 

I like them in some cars and I think the choices you made in regards to how it looks are good!

They are much more supportive than the stock seats for sure!

 

I'm thinking about putting racing seats in my car but there pricey. Also I like the stealth factor of factory seats.

 

 

I have had recaro lx's at my camaro four years now.Much better seats than original.I made spacerplates between original racks and recaros.Original racks are good because they let seat sit enough low(I'm 190cm tall)

 

just find recaros from a Volkswagen they have a separate headrest and look more stockish

 

I have recaro's out of my friend's 86 Rx7 I'll be installing this spring. They aren't racing seats but they have alot more side and leg bolster. I used to sit in them and drink in the garage they were so comfortable yet they still look like a factory style seat.
