i lost a nut in while instaling a shifter, which i need and it could use a good cleaning. it tends to smell like a cigar box. it dosent look that challenging but your input would be apperciated alot. i also think ill be a wealthy man after i extract all the coins out of there.

i just tore mine out not that long ago, and mines a 87 so they should be the same on taking them apart. There are several bolts you need to tak out along the bottom of the console. Also you will need to remove the shifter handle and handle for your hand brake. Depending on what type of cd player you got in it you might have to take that out and your heat controller. There will be some bolts screwing it into the dashboard to. Once all the bolts are removed you will have to pull it out at a funny angle and it comes right off. Just prey that the nut you lost didnt fall into the carpet lining cause then you would have to pull the carpet up which is alot more work. if you want hit me up with your email. and ill show you were all the bolts are cause i have my center console tore out and i could snap a picture to show you what it looks like.
