90-92 guage overlays

i have a 92 rs and really wanted the blue leds for my guages. i put them in and with the yellow numbers it gives a green tint. the kms are white so they look great. i was wondering if anyone knows if they have someone making stock looking gauges for the 90-92 but with white numbers? or mabe they might be a way to modify the stock guages?

Maybe this will work?

I have never bought anything from this site but they have the gauges, maybe you can find them cheaper on e-bay, but now you know they do make them.

Re: 90-92 guage overlays

I'm pretty sure what I have is the second one. The green really doesn't do much green - it really looks more blue. But it works well (except that at night, you really can't see the needles well). I've had mine 3 years now with no issues.

The reason you can't see the needles ... The overlays keep any of the factory light from going into the needle area (at the center of the needle), thus the needles don't glow anymore. Hasn't been enough of an issue for me to fool with it, but I'm sure you could rig a way to make the needles glow, or use needles from anothe car that would glow maybe.

Re: 90-92 guage overlays

hey intimidatorz thats exactly what i want a balck background with white numbers so at night only the numbers light up blue. alot people go with white face guages so i want something different . i painted the gauge surround white with black face guages . now i just need the numbers to light up blue not green.
if you could keep up posted when tey start selling them i will defferently buy so long as the price is to crazy.

I figured when my cluster is out to just use the led's I have in yours. We could take pictures, perhaps drive around and take a video.

Re: 90-92 guage overlays

youd have to check their website for pricing. they can do completely custom whatever you want on them. i just wanted mine to look like this.

Tony i guess we can do that. maybe that same day you come steal my hood from me.

I found a loop hole. Write a review in the Aftermarket Vendor Review/ Aftermarket Product Review sections.

INTIMIDATOR Z could you send me a PM to where you got these, and how much they cost?
I've been looking for something like this.

Do you have any pics of them lit up?

Thanks!

Re: 90-92 guage overlays

I know you said you want blue, but have you thought about maybe red? I took a red Sharpie to all the needles in my gauge cluster, and then put red LED's in the stock 194 bulb sockets for the backlighting, and they look great.

It's hard to see everything with a camera phone and it being dark outside, but you get the idea.

Re: 90-92 guage overlays

It doesn't look like Intimidator has been online in a long time, but I looked through my PM's and found the one from him.

The company name was
http://6litereaterdesigns.com/store/...roducts_id=288

I contacted them back then, and I think it was a couple hundred dollars for thirdgens. The cost depended on what you actually wanted done.

Thanks! toxik IROC replied in a thread I posted with the same link. I already sent in an inquiry. It's definantly worth the money to me.
