My passenger window is petering out. I rolled it down, and it quit. I had trouble going up of course stopping, starting, and so on. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you are going to need a new power window motor. I would also suggest you get a power window regulator as well.

 

Would the regulator cause the problem and not the motor?

 

it was my window motor failed but right after I installed the pw motor the power window regulator failed.

You're going to have to replace the window motor. If you are going to use the bolts supplied (and not new rivets), it makes it easier if you use a dab of JB Weld to hold the nuts on the back of the motor housing. Thread the bolts by hand to get them started then put the wrench on them.

 

JB weld? wouldn't lock tite work the same?

I wasn't clear. Use the JB Weld to hold the nuts to the back of the motor until you position it and thread the bolts. Otherwise it's near impossible to finagle the nuts onto the bolts inside the door with the motor in position.

 

I see. I thought you were using JB to keep the nuts from loosening.

 

Hot Glue works also for holding the nuts in place until you get the screw through it - just need to hold those little suckers on there until you get the screw started into it - like gluing the lug nuts on a race car wheel.
