Good afternoon - I've recently noticed that one of the rattles inside my car is coming from the emergency brake handle. Specifically the button above the grip. I would assume this is happening as the spring that would force the button up is weaker than it was originally so there is less tension holding the button firmly in place.

Anyone have a similar problem and know a fix? I can't quite see how the lever/button comes apart to simply replace the spring.

I had the same thing going on, drove me nuts. I even stuck a folded up towel next to the lever for a while, but that was equally dumb. I tried everything I could but never found anyway to fix it. Ended going to the JY and rattling every one I came across until I found a solid one. Got that, swapped over and smiling ever since

 

Thanks Henry - I'll keep that in mind. Might try to wind a smaller spring underneath it first though. Other thoughts are welcome!

 

Maybe some grease will shut it up.
