Seats

The guy I bought my camaro from removed the interior so he could make the car lighter. I'm needing to find seats and other interior pieces for relatively cheap. Anyone have any suggestions on where I should start looking? Thanks

Re: Seats

local junkyards. 4th gen seats are a direct bolt in and are more comfy than 3rd gen seats. you can pick up a complete set, front and back, for around $100.

Re: Seats

Last time I was out at the junkyard I couldn't find any Camaro's that had the seats. I know the Trans Am is the about the same as a Camaro, are their any other interchangeable models?

Re: Seats

If you're near pittsburgh, PA, I have pretty much all the interior plastics(black) only pieces I plan to keep or the sill plates, and center console I don't have the carpet though. I've got some rear seats as well, grey cloth with a diagonal pattern on the edges, single piece fold down back, split buckets, could use some cleaning up, but no damage on them if memory serves.

All 1982 - 2002 F-body (camaro/firebird) seats are direct bolt on.

Re: Seats

I agree with Travis. My interior parts were mostly trashed and after hitting up a few donor cars, I got pretty much everything I needed, including spare pieces. It's dirt cheap at 'pick/pull your own' salvage yards - especially when it's not motorized or electronic. Ebay has everything too, but you end up paying more after shipping. Craigslist is great too. Under the 'auto parts' category, type in Camaro. I usually find people looking to part out vehicles there. Lastly, go with the 4th gen seats if you can; I'm glad I did.

Re: Seats

Thanks for all the suggestions/advice. I'll look into trying to find some 4th gen seats. The guy I'm getting it from should have his engine/tranny out in the next week, then I get to start on my newest project.

Re: Seats

I think grand am seats bolt in too, in fact I think I recall one of the grand am sub models using the same seats TAs had, may be wrong on that though.
