whats the best way to eliminate this maddening squeak, WD40?

 

You'll have to be much more specific.
Does it squeak only when adjusting or when your driving as well?
Most of the time some lubrication will help.

 

Take it apart and check the seat tracks. My pass one had same issue upon tear down found the roller in the adjustor was bad. I replaced from a junkyard pull.

 

ya its mostly if i move it forward and back when i get in or when im driving around

 

Try some lithium grease, it's thicker and will stick better. Make sure to use a straw though, or else it'll make a mess.

 

Try tightening the floor bolts,mine squeaked after I put the seats back after I put new carpet in.

 

i think it has something to do with the connection from the bottom to the back rest, also theres a little toggle thingy i assume used to lock the seat upright and that you could pull to allow people to sit in the back, but now the seat just goes down when u pull it down. also when i brake hard at a stop light the passenger seat comes slamming down.
