1992 Camaro A/C air ducting
1992 Camaro A/C air ducting
Does anyone know if my 1992 camaro recircs any air from inside the car or does it always use fresh outside air. On my newer vehicles there is always a "recirc" button that opens a damper to allow the air blower to pull from inside the vehicle but this car doesn't. It does have a "MAX" AC position and I am wondering if this is supposed to open a damper. If so, can someone tell me where the damper is? It is HOT in vegas and don't want to be cooling outside air all the time....
Thanks
Thanks

"max" is the only setting that pulls air from inside. All other modes including defrost and bi level pull outside air. "max" will still pull some outside air. The part is called air inlet valve, it is located in the interior on the backside of the blower motor.

Thanks, I thought that may be what MAX meant. I will look for the vlave tomorrow which I assume must be something like a damper. I don't think it is working. Thanks again for the reply!

lookin for that valve is not that easy.
It is on the inside of the car on the firewall upper passenger side
The valve itself is about a 4 x 6 rubber edged valve that is vacumm operated from your selector switch.
If you wanted to see it.
remove the passenger side under dash panel.
remove your ecm - do not disconnect!
lay under the dash and look up - you should see it then!
