The difference between interiors?
My first post-
bear with me.
I just want to know the main differences in a 1982 Firebird's interior types, and what they came in.
I know the types are as follows, as according to "Classic Industries"; Vinyl, Encore velour, standard vinyl (82-84), Standard encore velour (82-84), Standard regal velour (82-84).
Why do they have types that span for two years, then two one-year-only options?
Please and thank you.

Re: The difference between interiors?
Yeah, it would.
At any rate, I had no idea they had so many options for interior materials. I would have guessed just two: cloth or vinyl. Only thing I can figure is that Classic Industries offers two grades of material for both cloth and vinyl.
It would be nice if they told you which was closest to original....

From a long long time ago. I have had the privledge of actually building my 1988 T/A in Calf. before they shut down the factory. They had a offer for the Union Members to build there own cars in a 3 day cycle from Oct/1987-Dec/1987 for the 1988 model year...During the process, I've learned that GM has had problems with venders not supplying Int. componets in a timely manner,...so they would change venders often and get different colors and styles, Chev. and Pontiac would be seperated and dolled out acording to make, the Chev would get the low end of the Int, except IROC's, and the Firebird would get the higher material quility, but as always any low cost V-6 models got the cheapest int. as possible, from both Co. To answer your question its very simple....Supply and Demand.
