Will a manual 4th gen console be ok with an Automatic shifter?

Engine: Trying to find a motor
Transmission: 4L60E
Axle/Gears: 3.23
Will a manual 4th gen console be ok with an Automatic shifter?
I dont see why it wouldnt. Just wouldnt have a way of telling which gear its in. If i can get the Auto top plate thatd be fine too,but isnt it not just a direct bolt up if its auto? I tried searching and didnt get any straight answers. Thanks

you can use the manual console and just guess what gear its in. i dont think the auto top plate will work in it though.
