Interior help.

I was going to get the complete interior from a guy who has a 91 z28 but instead i am buying his whole car. The problem is he already took the whole interior apart. Can anyone point me to a thread on how to put it all back together? I was going to put his interior in my 92 RS but was a better deal to buy his whole car cause his runs a lot better then mine. Thanks in advance.

Re: Interior help.

You can go ebay and purchase a service manual specifically for your make car.I highly recommend it,they are very handy.

Re: Interior help.

Feebay does not have any right now. Basically rdt_2007 you will need clips and all the parts that would attach the interior to the body. When you take it apart just try and remeber how to put it back together.

Re: Interior help.

the body is the same for the most part, so that part of the books shouldnt change much. the engine and electronics sections are gonna be diffrent though, youll need a book ment for 89 to get the most out of it.

on a side note, you can get an external cd drive for like $20....it just plugs into a usb port and viola, you have a cd drive.

Re: Interior help.

No problem camarosrock1989. The interior on the 91 is already taken apart. I can just drive my 92 and go off of that and find a post for the dash. I already have a haynes and chilton book thats why i was hoping to find a thread on it. Thanks for your help everyone. Would have been on here sooner but forgot that i only get a email for the first reply.

Re: Interior help.

those books are fine for general work. but when you get down into the detailed stuff like a full interior rebuild, you really need the detailed exploded diagrams from the dealer service manuals. ive got a scanner so ill see if i can get the interior diagrams scanned for you. ive been thinking about scanning the whole book since its starting to fall apart.

Re: Interior help.

only down sides to scanning the book is 1) its massive, like 1000+ pages massive. and i have to scan each side of each page individually and 2) its legal for me to make a digital copy for my personal use since i own an original copy. not legal for me to share unless you also own an original copy. not like im gonna get the FBI bursting though my door if i do, but still technically not legal.

if i dont wind up scanning it and making a digital copy, ill wind up just spending the $30 or so and get a digital copy off ebay.

Re: Interior help.

you could, but chances are it will look like crap.

on a side note, digitizing a service manual take a lot of time. scanning that many individual pages is a chore.

Re: Interior help.

You have one car with interior and a second that runs better but the interior is out? Use the one with the complete interior as a blueprint: diss assemble it and number each piece if you need to, then put the other interior in in reverse order. Simple.
