Replacing **** boot

I've been wanting to replace my shift boot for a while now, due to common wear and tear. I came across this one and thought it would be perfect because I sort of have a red and black theme on the interior

would this one work in a 3rd gen bird and how do you get the old boot off? I unscrewed the console cover and can get underneath, but that's as far as I got. Thanks
