What's With This Odometer?!

Okay so I bought my 87 GTA with the digital dash 3 weeks ago and I notice the odometer lights up when it wants to but usually won't stay lit for long. The other day I was pushing the buttons to the left of the odometer for "trip" "average MPG", etc.... And the next time I started my car the odometer went from around 114,000 miles to like over 180,000 miles! What the heck happened?

I would say you have switched the thing over to kilometers, try driving it and seeing if the milage adds up right or if it adds 16 miles when you drive 10. I have a truck that has a metric dash in it and thats the way mine works. Also, if you did get it over to km, your speedo will be off, 88km will be really close to 55mph

I suspected that those functions changed something but they don't work have the time so next time they decide to light up I'll try playing with it. I wish the car just had the analog gauges. I may have to try to repair this for now. It seems that the odometer part is what starts to go first on he digital cluster

Re: What's With This Odometer?!

Does anyone know how to get the 4 buttons to the left of the odometer to light up? I pulled the cluster out but cannot figure out how to get in there and replace the bulb.
