Console ashtray plate?
The console plate in my firebird had the ashtray cover snapped off before I bought the car and I didn't even know there was supposed to be a cover for the ashtray until I saw a new console plate online which I've ordered. I'm just wondering how the cover works, is it electric powered or spring powered and how do you open and close it? thanks

Re: Console ashtray plate?
It's manual - just popped open with a spring, and latched down with the button that should still be on the console. There is a little plastic geared damper thingy on the side to make it open posh.
Don't know how many times I've glued that thing back together.
