Busted turn signal lever
As if work wasn't a big enough PITA today, my signal lever decided to bust it's self clean off on my way to the store this evening. Not all bad though, I never really knew how they worked until now. I always assumed that like other cars I've had to pull the steering column off from that it was riddled with wires, but i was pleasantly surprised to find that ours (or alteast for my particular model) are strictly mechanical. Mine broke on the steel shank that runs all the way through the lever. It seems that the turn signal and high beam are controlled by the plastic grooves that interlock from the lever to the steering column, and the wipers/washer function is controlled by the steel rod. Since the busted part was steel I thought I'd give JB weld a go. Couldn't find it and ended up going with locktite's version. I held it in place for the recommended 15 minutes and I plan on letting it harden over night before I give it a go. I'm really not letting my hopes get up too high, I can envision it snapping the first time I use it on the way to work tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Go to most any auto parts store, grab a new one, and pull the old one. They simply pull straight out, no disassembly required unless you have cruise which you didn't mention. But man, how hard do you hit that thing?
Good luck with the repair, but I would be surprised if it holds together for long.
