Seat Material

Hey,

Does anyone know about how many yards of the tweed type material it takes to recover the two front seats in an 88-92 camaro?

Thanks!

Re: Seat Material

I'm sorry, what I mean is how many yards for just the tweed sections only. Not to do the entire seat in tweed. Thanks.

Oh ok. I would take 1 1/2 yards and you would have a tiny bit left over.

Re: Seat Material

I would like to know where one might be able to get the old style black leather looking fabric with back padding and lines sown in a pattern that leaves about 11/2 inches in between the stitching.

I have not seen what your talking about already made. Ahy upholstery shop can make what your talking about. What are you using it for?

Oh ok. So your wanting to do it yourself then? I am thinking your talking about the pattern like the 98-02 Camaro's have in them? They have the
1 1/2 inch pleats going from top to bottom.Check this picture out and let me know if these are the pleats your talking about.

Re: Seat Material

What would a set of those set me back. Of coarse they would have to have the seat cushion covers too. If you don't sell your work over this forum that is OK don't worry about it.

Re: Seat Material

Yes I do. To do the front and rear seat upholstery with the pleats in it, your looking at $500.00 plus shipping which would be about $35.00. Now what do you mean about about seat cushion covers? These covers replace your existing upholstery. You take your old upholstery off and put the new on. Let me know.
Thanks

Thank you Yes, alot of the stuff on eBay is made in China and does not last very long, so it just depends on what somebody wants to pay and what quality they expect. Like they always say, you get what you pay for. Thanks again.

Re: Seat Material

Covergirl had some awesome stuff. Once I get some money together, I'll have her make me some two-tone tan and black covers, possibly with a little more side lumbar foam.
