T-Top Bag Clip

Ok -- here's a truly stupid question.

I have an '82 t-top and need someone to post a close up pic of the how the rear strap for the t-top bag attaches to the metal clip/buckle.

On my bag (pictures below) the metal clip/buckle is sewn to the front strap but both rear straps are completely separated from the clip. I have no idea how those rear straps are supposed to connect to that metal clip so that when I pull the rear strap, it tightens.

It really seems like I'm missing a piece that should go on the rear strap. Anyone know?

Missing the hooks.
Look at the thread started by

Dante

There's a pic in that thread of the hooks.

Re: T-Top Bag Clip

I searched for threads started by Dante and only got four results, none of them related to t-tops.

Are you talking about the the steel clips that hook the strap the rear panel? Those clips are there (they're on the other end of the strap, and I didn't show those in the pics). Or is there another clip that's missing?

PM
Me your cell phone # if you can receive pics on it or email addy,
I'll send a pic.
There is supposed to be the same style hooks on the other end with about
2 feet of strap that goes thru the buckle.

Sorry about the Dante thing, there's more to his name but I don't recall.
The thread is
T-Top Storage.
Someone posted a pic on there.

Re: T-Top Bag Clip

Thanks -- I had found that thread and saw the picture last night.

Again -- what I'm trying to figure out is how the rear strap loops through the buckle. can pass the rear strap through the buckle but there's nothing there to keep any tension on the strap when you pull it tight.

I really need a close up of the buckle to see how to thread/loop the rear strap through it so that when you pull it the rear stap that it all stays tight.

Re: T-Top Bag Clip

Just to close this out -- there is a steel dowel that snaps in to the buckle. That dowel was missing. I found one of mine in the cargo well wedged between the rear panel and the carpet.

With the dowel in place, the strap wraps around it and holds the strap tight when you pull it. Pictures attached.

Thanks t-top havoc for your help!
