question? is the gauge cluster rebuildable?

What im asking is can you remove the stock cluster from the dash and pull the individual gauges out and replace them with autometer gauges?

If so how do you do this? Do you have to do any major wiring or is it plug and play by hard wiring the autometers to the stock gauge wiring and plug the cluster back into the oem gauge cluster harness

Nothing about it would be plug-and-play.
