carpet installation humps
I installed new carpet last week. Overall, I think it's a pretty good fit, BUT... There are a few undesirable humps in the area between the rear seats over on the sides of the drive tunnel and the passenger floorboard. Any ideas on getting this to lay down better or will it lay down over time? Padding is under all the carpet and I did not glue or tar carpet down anywhere. Also, nothing has been tightened completely(seats, etc), to allow for any settleing the carpet may do on its own.

yes. I allowed the old and the new carpet to set in direct sunlight all morning, and the new one was allowed to sit in the house spralled out for three days before the morning of installation.

granted, it's a black carpet, and from what I hear these things can sit in a box for years before they are sold due to high demand on black carpet. It may have been on the shelf for awhile.
