It's been discussed in the 4th gen dash threads any number of times... A longer cable is required with some different routing patterns.

Ok maybe I didnt make myself clear enough. Let me try this again...
While I am aware of the longer cable being recommended as I already have this longer cable. What has been the best way to mount the Heater box end of the longer cable to the "pot metal" arm that is on the heater box?
The few things that I found that people have done or tried. One person "thought" he was going to try a certain way, but never reported back, While another took the mounting part of the the 3rd gen box, cut it off and glassed it to the 4th gen box so that he had the same connection for his longer cable that you speak of. Either one of these was never reported back as to whether it worked well or not.
So thanks for basically telling me to search for stuff that I already have. By the way this longer cable is called the hot/cold temperature cable and came from the 94-96 Camaro.

And let me try this again... There's pics, dude, of plenty of dash installs. There's one somewhere. And I know that the cable is the TEMPERATURE CONTROL cable. Of course, if you had done the research you said you have, you would realize that it doesn't matter how you attach the dash ducts to the 3rd gen heater assembly, it's not going to work the way the factory intended with the 4th gen parts. Best way is to completely swap over to 4th gen parts so you won't have this issue. But what do I know? I've only been researching the swap for 2 years and plan on starting when I can afford the dash .

I know there are pics of the dash install. Some of them are mine. Mines been in since Feb 2010. But to this day I've never seen a pic of how ppl have attached this cable to the 3rd box.
All I was asking if someone has done it without using all 4 th gen stuff. I've even seen the thread on that.

rather than make a new thread, I'll just bump this. I just did a complete 4th gen dash swap with Thirdgen heater/AC box. I bought a 95 firebird HVAC controls, what cable is the easiest to make the heat/cold selector work?
Thanks in advance!

TTT. I have the 95 Camaro HVAC Cable. How are people attaching them to the HVAC system?
