Puddle in rear passenger floorbed plz help

I used to get a lot of puddles when it rained on the passenger side and I peeled the carpet back one time to see what was wrong and the chalking body seam sealer had dried up and was causing the problem do I replaced it and everything was fine for a few weeks. Yesterday we had a thunder storm and this morning when got in my car I checked to see if the new chalking has been holdin up I felt almost like dampness on my carpet and it was very cold like water was underneath. So I peeled it back and there was. I got the hose and put it on the cowl vent and sprayed into it cause that's where water was coming from . originally and after 5 min with hose on nothing happend no water trickling or anything that I could see so I decided to just take all my floor mates out cause they were due for cleaning and I saw that that there was a puddle underneath the carpet on the backseat on the passenger I believe it came from the hose . I have no way of peeling this carpet back because the passenger seat would need to come off so what could be causing water to run to the back seat. I noticed that the puddle was also leaning foward to the front so that could've Ben causing the coldness/dampened in the front side . Is there any drain plugs I should check. Srry for the long post buts been a p.i.t.a. Tryn fix this all I'm tryn to do is presents interior frm getting ruined by the water. Thanks o all who help!

Yes I do but it only leaks on the front passenger side and it's only sometimes so I don't think it could've cause the rear puddle. Because it wasn't even noticeable until I took the rear floormatt off I saw the puddle

For me the rear of the passenger window didn't seal tight (1/8 inch gap). The rain water found its way in. Now when I roll up the window (power) I need to pull up the window the remaining 1/4 inch, by hand.

Re: Puddle in rear passenger floorbed plz help

I had a leak in the front of my t tops as welll but the watter flowed to the rear of the headliner and came down the speaker area. Take out the bottom of the rear seat and see whats under it there. If its wet its doin the same thing as mine. Best way is to sit in the car and put a hose on the car to simulate rain and see what happens

Re: Puddle in rear passenger floorbed plz help

Sorry for takeing forever to reply but Iv haven't had any rainstorms to see if it would happen agian. But anyways, it rained last night and this morning and I checked my car out and it seems to be dripping water from the end corner tips on my windows and also from the back where the interior carpet meets the plastic. No puddle or any water on the front side so I believe I solved that Problem. Does anyone have any quick fixes on stopping those leaks especially the leak coming from the back I believe it's the hinges that hold the trunk. As well as ther corner leaks, I was thinking maybe just buying some spray on rubber to stop the leaks

Edit* o the reason I had a puddle leak on the rear was from he leak on the corner dripping on the rear side creating th puddle overtime

Re: Puddle in rear passenger floorbed plz help

After I bought my IROC in 88, it almost started to leak immediately. I only fixed it by never driving in thunderstorms, rain and it gets garaged nightly. I still have problems when it comes to washing it.. I try not to spray water directly onto the T-Tops.. I know that isn't the answer you are looking for. My weather stripping is still factory new, very plyable, and in mint condition and I can't find any defects in it. I put a light coat of Vaseline on every seal at least twice a year. I am hoping someone can find a cure what has been plaguing me for many years

Re: Puddle in rear passenger floorbed plz help

I had the back seat leak. I replaced the t top seals. Yesterday I had the car outside on jack stands and I got caught in heavy rain. This was a true test for the new weatherstrip - no leaks! Change your t top seals. The problem with the location of the leak is that it could have traveled on the back side of a panel and not be leaking where you see the water. These cars are old and the original seals were marginal at best when the car was new. Use plenty of caulk and weatherstrip adhesive and make sure you clean off all the old adhesive.
