Camaro Center Console Spring Placement

I have my Camaro center console lid apart and can't figure out how the 1/2 circle spring goes in behind the release button.

It's probably something simple, but it seems as if I tried everything and nothing fits. The spring has latches on both ends...I just can't figure out what it latches onto.

Re: Camaro Center Console Spring Placement

It doesnt latch onto anything.Simply place the spring in position with the circular end facing foward. It presses against the backside of the latch

I modified mine to use a coil spring that I purchased at the hardware store.

That spring is one of the 'little' parts I always try and snag when I am at the yards- I've had 3 break on me over the years.
